FreeBSD
Native ZFS Filesystem
FreeBSD is a UNIX operating system used to power modern servers, desktops, and embedded platforms. A large community has continually developed it for more than thirty years. Its advanced networking, security, and storage features have made FreeBSD the platform of choice for many of the busiest web sites and most pervasive embedded networking and storage devices. FreeBSD has arguably the best ZFS implementation available today.
There are so many reasons to choose FreeBSD or Solaris, however, the most definitive reason is its native ZFS filesystem. IMHO, ZFS is the greatest filesystem ever developed and is one of the most significant achievements in computer technology to date. As a minimum, it should be the foundation on which to host any type of data including jails and virtual machines. If you value your data, ZFS is the only uncompromising choice you should make.
FreeBSD is our currently our first choice server OS for hosting with jails and virtual machines.

The basic fundamental requirements of a server are serviceability, scalability, and reliability. These are the prerequisites for a solid server foundation that should not be compromised. While most IT professionals are aware that they are only as good as their last backup, we excel beyond that notion and take pride in the outstanding availability of our solutions.
Our first choice for enterprise level server OS has always been, and continues to be, Solaris. Although other choices may be popular, our experience, and expertise confidently recommends Solaris servers above all others.
Solaris x86
x86 based servers with built in redundancy and scalability are extremely reliable and are an excellent hardware foundation for an economical alternative to Sparc servers. A well designed server provides increased availability. Solaris x86 is Intel certified.
